There are two types of gift givers – those who love to shop for gifts and those who absolutely, positively dread it. For the latter, monthly gift clubs can be a lifesaver. The question is, which ones are worthy of your hard-earned cash? Not all gift clubs are created equal, and we decided to find the best of the best when doing research for our gift of the month club reviews. How did Best Monthly Clubs measure up to the others when we set out to compare monthly gift clubs on the Web? Here's the scoop...

We loved the Explorer Club, which allows customers to sample a different food product each month. This feature combines the best products of Best Monthly Clubs’ collection and allows customers to try a wide variety of gourmet treats. All Explorer Club orders also include free first month shipping and a Best Grip Jar Opener.

The Best Monthly Clubs Experience:

Best Monthly Clubs provides customers with a variety of gourmet "Of The Month Clubs" to choose from. All of the foods provided by Best Monthly Clubs are obtained from small-batch producers in America, and membership is limited in order to maintain personal and intimate service options. Products are continually being rotated each year to ensure that customers receive the freshest, most original products available.

Our first impression of the Best Monthly Clubs website was that it definitely needs some work. We didn’t find the black and green color scheme to be very upbeat or attractive, and also thought that the graphics were a bit clunky and out-of-date..

Once we got past the unpleasant look of the website, we still didn’t really get the feeling that Best Monthly Clubs had a lot to offer. While it does provide a selection of seven different Of the Month Clubs to choose from, they only contain American-produced foods. And while the site claims to offer “gourmet” products, it does not provide much information about the producers of the foods offered and what makes them high-quality or "gourmet".

All that being said, we do have to give Best Monthly Clubs praise to their pricing structure. The offerings are competitively-priced and you can cancel your membership at any time and receive a full refund if you are not satisfied. If you don't mind sacrificing a bit of quality for a bit of savings, this club might be a good pick.

Best Monthly Clubs Customer Service:

Best Monthly Clubs offers a short list of Frequently Asked Questions pertaining to orders and shipping. An email address and phone number are both listed for customer service, which is open from 8:00AM - 5:00PM Central Time. The company claims to respond to e-mail questions within one day. We received a response two business days after we had submitted our request, and while the response took longer than we would have liked, we do have to admit the reply was in-depth and informative.

Upside:

Low prices, free newsletter, products obtained from small-batch producers.

Downside:

Very limited variety of products.
