Computers have opened up several opportunities to businesses and individuals alike. Unfortunately, they sometimes have a tendency to crash or, quite simply, not hold enough information. The innovation of online back-up storage has helped to alleviate these issues, and allows you to create a back-up of everything on your computer to an off-site virtual server. Our team set out to find the most technologically-advanced and reliable online data storage facilities available. Along our journey, we came across Box.net. Our Favorite Feature:

Our favorite feature of the Box.net website, hands down, was the ability to edit documents online. From our personal experience we know that computers house our lives, – pictures, personal documents, communications – they're all saved on our hard drives. With most of the other data storage websites, you need to download documents, edit them and then re-upload them. That's not the case with Box.net. Their technology allows for online editing, saving you quite a bit of precious time.

Box.net offers the ability to meet all of your storage and security needs, regardless of whether it’s for business or pleasure. With a variety of plans to choose from, such as Box Individual, Box Business, and Box Enterprise, the company has a plan to meet anyone's needs. They also offer discounts for ordering an annual subscription, although monthly payments are available. We couldn't ask for a better variety.

And each plan offers some much-appreciated perks, such as file sharing, online editing, easy uploading (via the web site or simply e-mailing to your account), etc. And our team really liked the idea that we could even sign up for a FREE 1GB account. We found this to be an added benefit to you if you only have a few files that need secured or stored off-site. And the fact that we could access our files from our mobile phones was a huge hit.

Upon first view of the site, we absolutely loved it. The site is very simple, colorful, and informative. No useless or cluttering information here. We did notice, however, that the site becomes a bit difficult to navigate once you click on the ‘sign-up’ page, as the template changes, taking away the navigation menu. While the rest of Box.net is easy to navigate, once you get to sign-up the only way to move is forward.

Moving forward is what we did and we found that ordering a Box.net was a snap. To get started all we had to do was provide our name, email address, password and billing information. Then we were on our way to having our files stored securely online.

Box.net’s Customer Service:

Our reviews team found the customer service offered by Box.net to provide an all-around excellent experience. The site itself defines everything very clearly, thus reducing the need to even speak to a representative. That being said, if you do need to reach a rep it won't be at all difficult.

Box.net offers a toll free number as well as email support routed to specific departments depending on the questions you have. The best option, of course, was the online chat. We were literally amazed at how quickly our team was connected to a representative, and how well they were able to answer our questions.

Upside:

Competitive pricing, features that separate them from the competition, and all-around excellent customer service.

Downside:

No software to encrypt the file prior to it leaving your computer.
