Your wedding day is the day you wait for your entire life, but there is so much to do and think about, where is a bride to start? Fortunately, there is no shortage of websites to give future brides-to-be advice and information. The thing is, some do it a little better than others. The Star Reviews team went in search of the very best bridal websites out there in order to bring you a list of “must see” spots on the Web. During our search, we came across Brides.com. Our Favorite Feature:

We really like the fact that Brides.com allows brides to create their own wedding website. Once you have created a website, others can search for it using your name directly on the Brides.com website. It's a wonderful way to keep everyone in the loop and to give your wedding its own Web presence.

The Brides.com Experience:

Brides.com is set up just like an online magazine. When we first entered the site, we were quite impressed by all of the information available. It was difficult to click on a link before our attention got diverted to another section of the homepage. Cluttered? Not really. Just an overabundance of links to choose from. It's enough to make even the most focused bride feel a little overwhelmed.

After gaping at the links for a minute or two we started into the fashion section, where we found tips on wedding dresses and got to see what was in style for this season’s ceremonies. We then moved on to the beauty section, where we were given the inside secrets about how some of the most beautiful brides in the world wore their hair and makeup on their wedding day. Brides.com offered great advice for people who are on a limited wedding budget and who have to do these things on their own.

In the planning section, we found tips to help us with budgeting our wedding and got a look at quite a few stylish wedding party outfits. The wedding style section also offered information on cakes, favors, and music that would suit all of our guests.

In the travel section, we found great destinations to consider for our honeymoon and discovered all of the honeymoon hot spots. Lastly, we found the local vendors section. This proved to be a fabulous resource. Using it we were able to locate all of the businesses in our area that could help us plan our wedding. Much easier than looking up all of these vendors in the yellow pages!

We then decided to check out the videos and photos uploaded by other members. We watched videos of real weddings and skimmed the photo albums to find the most beautiful gowns. The community of brides offered hours of chat about weddings, cakes, gowns, and honeymoons. Finally, we made a wedding website of our own. The setup was user friendly and now all of our friends can find our wedding website by entering our name into the search form at Brides.com. The site truly is a one-stop wedding resource.

Brides.com Pricing:

Brides.com is free to use. You do need to register to take advantage of many of the site's tools and features, but it won't cost you a penny.

Brides.com Customer Service:

Brides.com offers customer service via an extensive online FAQ and an email support form. We felt that the FAQ on this site was quite more comprehensive than the ones at the other free bridal websites we visited. Email support was also much faster, providing us with an answer to our question the very next day (whereas some of the other sites took two to three days to get back to us).

Upside:

Make your own wedding website, online photo and video sharing, community participation and networking.

Downside:

There is so much information on the homepage it takes a few minutes to get over the overwhelming feel.
