What we liked most about CA Anti-Virus Plus CA Anti-Spyware 2009 was the fact that we were basically getting two programs for the price of one. On one end you have a well established anti-virus program and on the other a well known anti-spyware application. Both of these being rolled up into one package was enough to make us happy.

CA Anti-Virus Plus CA Anti-Spyware 2009 Experience:

Our experience with CA Anti-Virus Plus CA Anti-Spyware 2009 was definitely a good one. We found that the software installation was absolutely trouble, albeit a little slow. After we got it going did notice a bit of system lag, but that’s the case with almost all anti-virus programs. The interface for this anti-virus software was, perhaps, lacking in style, but did win points with us for its simplicity.

We were able to quickly navigate around the menu options and found them to be forward and to the point. As far a performance this program was able to detect and remove a large range of spyware from our computer as well as many viruses.

CA Anti-Virus found all the threats our system was harboring without a problem, and even notified us of items that were questionable, but maybe not all-out malicious. It gave us a bit of control over which threats we wanted to remove, and which were intentionally placed on our hard drives. Overall we found it to be a very comprehensive anti-virus solution.

CA Anti-Virus Customer Service:

CA Anti-Virus Plus CA Anti-Spyware 2009 came with several customer service options that were able to satisfy many of our questions about this product. The first one that we looked at was the on-line FAQ pages. These pages cover a wide variety of information and seems to address some of the most common problems that may be encountered.

Aside from that CA also offers a community forum and the ability to contact a tech via chat and/or email functions. In all cases we received a response fairly quickly and had our questions answered. There is also phone support available as well and the representatives were kind and courteous, though we were put off by the fact that it is a pay-per-use service.

Upside:

Simple to use, provides protection from multiple threats, automatic updating.

Downside:

Doesn't have a large amount of options.
