Buying a car isn't exactly a stress-free ride. First, you have to deal with the vultures on the lot. Then the negotiating begins and just when you thought it was over, you're dragged into a "finance office" where more unpleasant surprises await. Star Reviews wanted to simplify your life and scope out some auto loan providers for you, so we glanced at the Car Credit website in the process. We didn’t reach an epiphany when we first saw their website interface, but keep reading for our experience below.
What's New?
- Get a response in as little as 60 seconds.
- Car loans available for consumers with bankruptcy history
- Helpful credit and calculators tools
Star Reviews' Favorite Feature:
While Car Credit may be little more than a broker/dealer referral company, they do indeed offer a wealth of car loan resources at their website. Whether you want to estimate your monthly payment with a loan calculator, learn how to improve your credit rating or read about car buying and identity theft, Car Credit has the resources you need.
The Car Credit Loan Process:
Like most dealer referral services, Car Credit has you fill out an online application and then submits that application to car dealerships in your area. The dealerships qualify you and then contact you regarding what cars and/or loans you may be eligible for. You go into the dealerships and then, if you find the car you need, the dealership will settle the financing details for you. The only difference between Car Credit and straight dealer financing is that the dealer has already viewed your credit information and pre-approved your loan before you even hit the lot.
Auto Loans Offered by Car Credit:
Car Credit doesn't offer direct auto loans. Instead, they refer you to dealers who will match you with an auto loan you qualify for.
Car Credit Website Offers:
- Easy online application
- New and used car loans
- Bankruptcy and bad credit okay
- Loan calculators
- Helpful and informative loan and credit articles
Car Credit Customer Support:
There's nothing like being left to the mercy of the car dealerships and that's exactly what happens when you go through the Car Credit site. There is no customer service link, phone number or email address provided at the Car Credit website. You'd think with all the information you're giving them (social security number, birth date, driver's license info) they'd at least give you contact information in return. No can do on this auto loan website. There is a very short FAQs section, but if you find an answer here, we’d be shocked.
Upside:
Fast approval, bankruptcy okay, variety of helpful resources.
Downside:
No customer service whatsoever.
Summary:
The Car Credit website offers those looking for auto loans some very helpful features and resources. There is auto approval here, so you shouldn't have to wait more than a minute for a response. If your credit isn't the best (and if you even have a history of bankruptcy) you can still get approval on this website, which we appreciated. While there are helpful credit tools and loan calculators, customer support is absent here. You're left with a FAQs section, with very few questions answered at all. This is another auto loan referral site, in which you're sent to dealers that will unearth a loan for you. This wasn't our favorite auto loan website, we have to admit.
