A spirited effort

While it took me awhile to consider emptying my pocket of 40 bucks to stop a minor inconvenience, I decided to side with this one, as it was somewhat of an underdog. The website wasn't particularly spectacular, however I was at least able to tolerate something that minimal. I'll start by saying this: It isn't perfect, and I did continue to receive a little trickle of spam mail, but for the price it at least gets the job done decently. I did like the surprisingly infinite number of email accounts I could protect, and it had a rather easy-to-use navigation system. I'd say go with another product if you find it necessary, but if you also feel like rooting for the underdog, grab this one if you like.

All unknown senders receive a “registration request” from ChoiceMail One that directs them to a web page in which they are asked a series of questions to validate whether they are actual people versus computers trying to spam you. If the person registers, ChoiceMail One generates a popup box for you, where you choose to accept the sender or not. ChoiceMail One anti-spam software also offers virtual email addresses you can give to vendors to protect your active email addresses. Many choices, ergo the name, “ChoiceMail”.

Choice Mail costs $39.95. You may also purchase program upgrades and virtual email addresses to protect your own. The ChoiceMail One spam blocker management system is available for free for 30 days with their risk-free trial.

Customer Support

You may reach ChoiceMail One’s customer service department in three ways. You can browse support topics within their online database.

You may also go to “contact us”. Then go to the “existing customers” section, which will lead to a series of options on what to do next. We were encountering errors when accessing our email from one of our hotmail accounts, and so customer service directed us to upgrade our ChoiceMail One account, which solved the problem.

Another support option is its “Maintenance and Pay per Incident support,” which includes live personnel via telephone as well as desktop sharing for a $29.95 per half-hour fee. Generally, given ChoiceMail One’s wide array of online support services, chances are you will probably not need to use their pay per incident feature.

Upside:

You hold the keys to your e-door and decide when to use them. More than spam protection.

Downside:

Initially time-consuming to add all likes and dislikes. If you do need individualized assistance, you must pay for it.
