CompleteTax User Interface and Product Application:
Unlike many of the other tax preparation products on the market, CompleteTax does not offer a desktop solution, but rather focuses on online tax preparation. The layout of the site is very user friendly and easy to navigate, making this a great choice for the technological beginner.

Pricing Plan:
CompleteTax is competitively priced at $25.95 for federal returns and $12.95 for state returns. To file a federal extension, there is an additional cost of $9.95.
Customer Support:
Accessing customer support for CompleteTax was a bit more complicated than it was with some of the other online tax preparation products. There was no phone number to call and our email to them went unanswered. They do offer chat support, but you are not able to access it without a login ID or password, and to get that you must register to file your taxes with the site.
Upside:
The one price/one solution approach offered by CompleteTax was rather refreshing and it may very well be one of the most user-friendly tax preparation products out there.
Downside:
CompleteTax is only available in the online version, so those who would rather use a desktop solution will not be able to use this product.
Summary:
We were really impressed by CompleteTax's commitment to online tax preparation, as they don't offer desktop solutions. However, we think they offer a solid product and it's pretty user-friendly when compared to the competition out there. When you complete your taxes, you will be walked through with guided prompts, and if you have any questions along the way, you are invited to use the free chat support. We would have liked to see an improvement in customer support, as our email request went unanswered and we didn't see a telephone support number. If you want to use chat support, do realize you'll need a login ID or password. Overall, though, we recommend their tax service!
