I visited the Dick’s Sporting Goods store located in Hoover (Birmingham), Alabama. My purpose was to purchase a full set of relaxed cloths to attend a local minor league baseball game. I was attending a military function in the town and had failed to bring civilian clothes. I verified with every sales associate I spoke with that I wanted to change at the store, pay for my goods and leave going straight to the game. Keep in mind I am in full military uniform. Everyone said it was fine, no problem, etc, etc. Till I asked for the security tags to be removed from the clothes. This seemed to be a problem even though the Dick’s sales associate volunteered to walk me, their clothes and my money to the front to make sure it was paid for completely.

I explained my dissatisfaction to the front manager on my way out of the store. Then over to Academy where it seemed no problem at all and I saved $4.95 on the same shirt.

All that was just the tip of the iceberg. I received an email from Customer Service that ‘my expectations’ were not to be met.

If you are into ANY kind of sports, even sports that I don't consider sports like hunting, you will find EVERYTHING you need at this store and at their website. I have never seen so many selections for so many different hobbies in my life. My thing is camping. They have everything from tents, to clothing, to cooking utensils, to food in a pouch! Its nuts! That said, I have to say that their prices are insane. On the items I looked at, it was sometimes double what I would pay for the same item somewhere else like Walmart or Target. If you are looking for very specific or hard to find items, especially for rare sports or uncommon hobbies, this is your place though.

Dick's sporting goods is the one place shop to get anything you need having to do with sports. I visit the store often, as I like to see the new equipment and apparel available. The other day I visited their website. The Dick's site is very appealing to shop on. It basically has the experience of visiting the store right on your computer. You can choose the category of what you are looking for and browse through all their products. If you want to purchase something just put it in your shopping cart and you can check out when you are ready. It is easy to use and convenient to have your purchase shipped right to your front door.
