One of the website's most popular attractions are its ringtones. But how does the service and selection of FlyCell compare to that of other ringtone download websites? When the Star Reviews team set out to compare ringtone download websites, we got the answer to that question and more. Here's what we discovered. What's New? The selection the site offers is so huge, the average phone user would be overwhelmed trying to browse it on the go. Surfing FlyCell’s easy-to-search database, however, allows you to quickly access thousands of ringtones in a fraction of the time. The FlyCell Experience: If we're going to be completely honest, we have to say that the FlyCell website could use a bit of work. The pages took a bit longer to load than we would have liked, probably due to the numerous flash advertisements. Add that the fact that the homepage organization was a bit lacking and you get the impression it was designed by an amateur. What we can give FlyCell credit for is making it easy to find popular ringtones for your phone. The site’s hottest purchases are featured on the homepage. And while homepage disorganization may be an issue for some, at least navigating through the site isn't too hard. All areas can be accessed using the drop-down menus at the top of the page. Dragging your cursor over the menu titles will display all areas of the site in an easy-to-read fashion. FlyCell does make sign-up easy, which is a big plus. All we had to do was enter our chosen user name, our cell phone number and our email address. Then it was a matter of selecting which FlyCell plan we wanted and we were on our way, browsing the available ringtones and participating in the FlyCell community. ClubPack subscriptions are $9.99 per month and include 20 credits per month. Ringtones are $2.99 each or 4 credits. Wallpapers are $1.99 each or 2 credits. Games $3.99 each or 4 credits. Applications are $3.99 each or 4 credits. Text Alerts are $6.99 per month or 4 credits. IDJ Mobile is $2.99 per month or 4 credits. FlyCell Customer Service: FlyCell offers customer support via an online help and FAQ, toll-free phone and email. While online help offers some basic information, we'd have liked to see more depth. We felt as though the information was incomplete and did not adequately cover all aspects of the FlyCell experience. Searching the Knowledge Base and FlyCell Glossary sections does not show any results for simple terms such as “price” and “services.” The Billing and Subscriptions sections of the FAQ are empty, and the remaining sections only cover Products and Services, Downloading, and Capability. Email support was definitely quick, getting back to us within hours of us submitting our request. Phone support, however, was pretty much nonexistent even though a phone number is listed. When we called the number we were given an automatic recording giving us the option of either talking to someone about signing up for services or going to the Website for more information. The website, mind you, doesn't really provide much help, as we pointed out already. We were also given the option of holding to speak to a rep, but after fifteen minutes we gave up. Upside: Wide variety of downloads, large community of members, discounted products. Downside: Minimal level of customer service available.
