Go Freelance is a unique kind of freelance website and also one of the priciest – up front. Although they charge a $40 membership fee, from what we saw there are no additional project fees added to that amount. Since other websites allow you a free membership, but charge a project free of 5% to 15% on every project, Go Freelance can easily end up being the cheapest place you find freelance work. It is also great for employers because there are no fees and posting a project is the easiest we have found yet. - Select jobs e-mailed to you daily, without membership.
- Free 10-day course with membership.
- Free “How to Find Freelance Work” special report.
The helpful “Articles” resource section is a must read for any freelancer, whether you intend to be a member of Go Freelance or not. You also get extra resources, such as course, e-books, and guides, when you buy a membership or sign up for a 7-day trial. Additionally, you can sign up for their free newsletter to stay on top of what is happening at Go Freelance and the type of jobs that are being posted. Overall we feel that GoFreelance.com is a site that employers and freelance professionals should check out for their project needs. They earn 5.0 Stars!

Odesk.com is a freelance website geared towards the freelancers interested in working on projects paid on an hourly basis. They provide the employer with several ways of keeping track of their workers including screen shots every 10 minutes, worker logs and bugs or trackers to make sure the employee stays on task. While this may be a put-off for freelancers who charge per project and not per hour, it is definitely a great way for hourly freelancers to stay on task. - 142 free qualification tests for freelancers.
- Hourly employment as well as fixed price projects.
- Time logging verification system including work diary, time analysis and screen snap
Registration with Odesk proved to be simple, but you do have to download Yahoo Instant Messenger to use exclusively for communication on the site. Navigation on the site is straightforward and the pages load quickly. Useful tools are provided for both freelancers and employers. While Odesk was not our favorite site, it definitely doesn't hurt to source work through it since monthly fees are not required and employers might really appreciate the project management tools made available. Odesk gets 5.0 Stars!

Scriptlance.com is a great place for business owners and freelancers to find each other. We really liked that sign-up was free to both. On the other hand, however, we were a bit surprised that Scriptlance charges project fees to buyers for successful project matches. Most freelance sites only charge providers, which means the selection of jobs available at the site might be hampered by this buyer charge. - Sign up for free.
- Get paid via Paypal, Moneybookers, MasterCard debit card, bank wire, E-gold, or FedEx check.
As far as provider fees go, however, Scriptlance was one of the best. They don't charge a monthly membership fee and the project fee is only 5 percent of the project revenue. We did like the fact that Scriptlance offers an escrow option to keep the transaction safe for both parties. There are over 23 categories to choose from and a rating system is in place to promote trust among members. If you want someone to talk to, you can connect with others on the forum. All in all, Sciptlance.com provides a good opportunity for business owners and coders to come together and get their project done. Star Reviews gives them 5.0 Stars!

Project4Hire is a new freelance marketplace website that brings freelancers and buyers together. Membership is free for both parties, but freelancers do pay a small fee when they are selected to work on a project. - Community forums available.
- Search the Web or Project4Hire for articles.
- Browse permanent employment ads.
We were happy to see that the site does offer a forum for members where they can interact with one another and discuss various topics of interest. One thing that makes Project4Hire.com unique is that aside from freelance projects there are also permanent employment listings. This can be beneficial for those who don’t enjoy the thrill of “the freelance hunt.” Aside from posting a project and waiting for bids, buyers can also search through freelancer listings to find the perfect freelancer for their project and use the rating system to decide whether or not to hire a specific freelancer. While the site didn't have as many listings as some of the other freelance websites we visited, we feel that as they grow they will definitely be a contender in the freelance website market. They earn 4.5 Stars!
