I am a freelance Business Developer working for some companies in India, I have more than 8 years experience in this area and a total of 13+ years experience in IT. I use getacoder, and suggested to so many companies, I started using it may be 2-3 years back. Now I am fed up with their new ‘inventions ‘. Some of the worst practices they have: • Need to make payment for 1 year otherwise pay set up fee of US$ 30, no other company demand the same. • No one can post any link, we need to wait a buyer to initiate chat to give any link. This is a wastage of time for buyers since how much time they need to spend to understand a provider. If they allow to give a link to portfolio then buyer will be in a better position to understand a provider and select one. • Email notification is the worst one, you will get notification, if it is a private message post, you will not know for which project you got that notification. Once click on that message, it will be difficult to find that chat again. • Project change notice is given, after the ending of bid period or when it is closed. I do not understand what happened to these people, most of the companies will come up with better practices and user-friendly platforms. This people are on reverse. And I have raised this issue with support, the answer was so irritating ‘we do not have a practice to reply if the mail is aggressive’. Now tell me…. Do you think this company will exist for a long? I remember there were lot of premium buyers in this site, now no one bothered to pay….Any way I lost US$ 95.4 for… And I will make it sure that Getacoder will not get a business through me…. I have suggested to so many people. Now I will not do it… My advice…. Get away from Getacoder….

Before start doing business on GetACoder I have used other freelance sites like RentACoder or GetAFreelancer which in my opinion are inferior to GetACoder. I have already posted lots of Projects on GetACoder and never had problems. Coders are trustable and GetACoder has a nice feature, the escrow payment method is a safe way to pay providers because you only release the money after the coder has completed the project like requested. Using escrow payment it's not possible that you loose your money.

This site is great like guru.com however there was less employers on this site since this is a new site. Hopefully, with the right advertisements this site would be a great competition to the overpopulated guru.com. This site offers easy navigation and great search options to make looking for a contract job a breeze.
