GetResponse.com was one of the sites we researched. Here's what we uncovered...

Our Favorite Feature:

We really liked GetResponse.com's GetSubscribers service. While it's not included in the basic email marketing plan, it is definitely worth every penny. For as little as 32 cents per lead you can start building your own opt-in email address with no work on your part!

The GetResponse Experience:

The first thing we noticed about the GetResponse.com email marketing service was that even though the company offers a free 30-day trial, they still require a credit card to get started. If this was industry standard, we could be more forgiving of this fact, but the truth of the matter is that more than a few email marketing services offer free trials with no credit card requirements. Because of this, we would feel better if GetResponse.com offered the same deal.

But let's get past that for a second, because we do have to admit that GetResponse.com offers some amazing features – one of our favorites being the GetSubscribers service. Even though this service isn't included in the email marketing plan, it is a great way to get email subscribers for as little as 32 cents each.

In addition to providing comprehensive list management tools, email campaign tracking, 150+ email templates, newsletter hosting, and auto-responder tools, GetResponse.com also provides built-in spam filtering, which protects you from accidentally violating the CAN-SPAM Act.

If you want an email marketing service that provides top-notch features and great customer support, and you don't mind providing your credit card number up front to get it, GetResponse.com may be one of your best bets.

GetResponse.com Pricing:

GetResponse.com was one of the only email marketing services to include up to 10,000 contacts in their regular monthly fee. You can pay monthly at a rate of $17.95, every three months at a rate of $47.85, every six months at a rate of $87.60, or every year at a rate of $145.40. If you have a list of more than 10,000 subscribers, you can add increments of 5,000 for just $4.50 each increment.

GetResponse.com Customer Service:

GetResponse.com has one of the most extensive customer service centers we've seen. They offer a user-guide, tutorials, an online knowledge base and an FAQ. They also offer live support via phone and chat support for GetResponse Pro customers. All others can access the department via email. That shouldn't be a problem for other users, however, since email support got back to us the very same day. If you're tired of companies not offering enough customer service, GetResponse.com will be a nice change of pace.

Upside:

Extensive customer support, email list building available, best pricing for those with very large subscriber lists.

Downside:

Only Pro subscribers get phone and chat support.
