Why are website analytics and traffic stats so important? Because they are what tells you exactly where your website visitors are coming from, how long they stay, and what pages they visit while browsing your website. And not only do Web analytic and traffic stats allow you to see where you visitors are coming from, but what page they leave from as well. This can help you fix mistakes in your website navigation and/or copy and turn more visitors into customers. HitsLink.com is one site that offers these services. We recently went there to check them out to see how they measured up to the other stat and analytics services on the Web. Here's what we found out...

Our Favorite Feature:

Our favorite feature was the 30-day free trial. This allowed us to really test drive the entire program and all of its features, before investing any money in this tool. The closest we have seen a competitor come is a 14-day free trial. The trial offered by HitsLink.com is twice as long.

The HitsLink Experience:

HitsLink.com offers online and real time website statistics and web analytics. These include reports on your website visitors, how they got to your website, navigation behavior, order/inquiry activities and advertising campaign analysis.

Other features of their program include click fraud detection, geolocator, custom reports, report exports, email alerts, sub accounts, search engine reports, comprehensive traffic stats, campaign tracking and conversion rates. To get the feel of their program, you can try their online demo available at their site or, better yet, opt to try their service free for 30 days with their trial offer. It was one of the longest trial periods we ran into while conducting our website stats and analytics service research.

The free trial allows up to 1,000,000 page views and we were happy to see that no credit card is required to get the free trial. We were able to choose from two subscription package options – the professional edition and the enterprise edition. The enterprise edition included great perks, such as pay per click advertising tracking stats.

For page views of 1,000 per month, pricing started at just $9.95 per month for the pro version or $14.95 per month for the enterprise edition. Pricing differs depending on the number of page views your website has each month.

In addition to comprehensive services, HitsLink.com also offers a number of informative documents including articles on web analytics and click fraud, how to maximize your ROI, and web log vs. real time stats, plus we were also able to subscribe to their newsletter for site updates.

HitsLink has a comprehensive support page where you can check out comprehensive FAQ's and glossary of terms. If you don't find what you re looking for online, you can submit an email ticket. Tech support is also accessible via phone and email. Considering most of the websites we looked into only offered email or ticket submission support, the fact that HitsLink.com actually offers live phone assistance was a huge perk and we definitely recommend them for anyone who demands access to a live person for help.

Upside:

Live support, pay based on actual page views, informative articles.

Downside:

Pricing is a bit high.
