What I like best about Hotels.com is their current reward program. Besides offering their lowest price guarantee, you can get one free nights stay anywhere for every 10 nights booked. Their customer service hotel experts are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you in booking and they always offer great packages and rates.

Navigating the Hotels.com website:

We loved how user-friendly this site interface was, offering a no-brainer search box. Just by entering our destination of choice, travel dates and number of people, we found countless hotel listings. For those of you that are interested in much more than a room, there are resourceful tabs with links like ‘Destinations,’ ‘Flights,’ ‘Vacation Packages,’ and ‘Groups.’ There truly is something for everyone here. We appreciated how simple it was to find exact hotels, as well, through their ‘Search by hotel name’ box. If you need to check your reservations or sign up for add-on activities or specials, there are helpful ‘View, Modify, or Cancel Reservations’ links right on the homepage.

We were really pleased with our search results page on this hotel booking site. When scouring for rooms in New York City, we were presented with a huge, detailed list of available room options matching our criteria. We also noticed how a ton of the rooms were on sale, but only for a limited time. For example, the Holiday Inn Manhattan Downtown was offering a 14-day advance purchase special through Hotels.com. We know that most of you book your hotel reservations at least two weeks prior to your arrival, so these special savings will apply for most of you! You can choose to sort your hotel listings by price, hotel name, star rating and even click to compare different hotels. Our team loved all of these useful and convenient features.

Booking on Hotels.com:

Hotels.com offers extensive room listings. Say you wish to book at Wynn Las Vegas. After selecting this hotel, Star Reviews loved the room options we were given. We were able to choose between a ‘Panoramic View Room,’ a ‘Resort Room,’ or a ‘Tower Suites Parlor.’ We could also see what each individual night would cost us, which would help us figure out the cheaper night to book, talk about resourceful! The payment and reservations form is quick, simple to fill out and those making reservations have the option to cancel without any fees if they so desire.

Customer Support:

Hotels.com offers an efficient customer support telephone line for their customers, which is great for those who aren’t comfortable booking online. They also have an email support option, which immediately sends you a confirmation email. Before the end of the business day, we received our response and our questions were answered. Their telephone and email support are very commendable. There is also a comprehensive FAQs section for those who don’t mind some light reading. We liked how they covered all of their policies, so you aren’t left in the dark at all.

We also appreciated the option to view, change or cancel your hotel reservations, since many customers like having access to their itineraries and need the flexibility that Hotels.com offers.

Upside:

Instant booking capabilities. Low price guarantee. Images and 360-degree room tours.

Downside:

Deals on this site come and go quickly. Rooms at low costs often sell out in a day. Prices are a little higher when service charges are included.

Summary:

Overall, we loved Hotels.com for its extensive listings, great features, and sales. This hotel reservation service consistently produced the most results in our hotel searches in various cities. Although their total booking costs usually ranked higher than some of their competitors’ pricing, they offered the most for their customers in the planning process. The low-price-guarantee does help you snag lowest rates per night, but the service fees are usually why costs go up. Comprehensive room reviews, images, room amenity listings, maps, and 360-degree room tours decorate this site. There are loads of special promotions and savings on select rooms; you just have to be willing to go through them to find your perfect match!
