Hotmail not so hot!
3
I have had a hot mail account for many years. When I first got Hotmail there were very few other choices for free email accounts and it was absolutely terrific. However as the years have passed many other free email programs offer you much for storage space such as G-mail.
A big plus of Hotmail is that it is very easy to use even by a person brand new to the Internet and emailing. An even greater plus is that inbound and outbound messages are automatically scanned for viruses.
The junk mail filter still lets lots of junk mail pass into your inbox. However it is a free service!

Hotmail is one of my least favorite email providers. I used it as one of my email addresses for years, and was disappointed by almost everything.
The interface is clunky and extremely slow. Every time they make upgrades or changes something, it seems like the load time increases a little bit. I have cable internet, and it takes forever for my inbox to load.
By far, though, the worst thing about Hotmail is the spam. I have never had an email address get so much spam as my hotmail address. It’s not the email that I’ve had the longest, it’s not even the email that I use the most. It is, however, the first email provider I’ve ever used where I’ve actually deleted my account due to the amount of spam I was getting.
Hotmail is not something I would ever use again.

I have had a hotmail and yahoo email account for 2 years now. They are both very easy to use. I like hotmail because it is solely for email purposes. It has many options of flagging emails you want to keep to creating different folders in which you can organize your inbox. The basic email functions are pretty simple and self explanatory. It also has a spam filter to make sure you are only receiving emails that you would want to read and nothing harmful to your computer such as viruses or spyware. The best part is that it is a free service to anyone needing an email account.
