We like Intelius Test and feel it is a great choice in helping cure computer ailments. With that being said, we felt the immunization window was a tad bit advanced and a beginner in software-related lingo might run into some difficulties setting up special settings. Our team must admit: we’re avid ‘To Catch a Predator’ and Chris Hansen fans. We recognize that people aren't always what they seem and while it's sad that you can't always trust a person on their word, thanks to the top background check services on the Web, you can protect yourself by digging a little deeper and finding the facts for yourself. Phone directory search- Not only were we able to search cell phones by phone number, but we could also search by name. (Most cell phone directories are reverse-number searches.) Even unlisted phone numbers and Internet phone numbers can be researched (for a fee of course).

About Intelius:

Intelius is like the big guy on campus. Everyone is either hanging out with him (using Intelius services to run the back end of their background check websites) or they want to be him. In fact, it's not uncommon to visit a completely different background check website only to find that it's the Intelius search system being used to operate it.

After all, they must be doing something right. The company has quite a few awards under its belt including WSA 2005 Industry Achievement Award and the Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2006. The company is ranked among the top 100 commerce sites on the Web and they work hard to provide customers with the information needed in today's sometimes-questionable society.

Navigating the Intelius Website:

The Intelius website has more of a "corporate" feel than many of the other top background check services on the Web. It was, however, just as easy to navigate as the more consumer-orientated sites. Simply click on the type of service you want, perform your search and see if Intelius has any results to offer. When it's time to actually access the results you make your payment and the report is delivered online. It's all pretty self explanatory and doesn't require too much thought to figure out.

Unlike some of the other top background check services, Intelius does not offer "club" discounts, although they do offer volume discounts for large-volume needs. Most personal users would not qualify for these discounts, but if you're a business and plan on ordering quite a few reports, you may want to contact the company about the volume program.

Intelius Customer Support:

Intelius offers customer support via an online email form, phone and FAQ pages. The FAQ was organized quite well and was very easy to navigate, but what impressed us more was the live phone support. The employee we spoke with was helpful and very understanding regarding our request. She explained our options in depth and was very knowledgeable about Intelius' product offerings. Email support was also prompt. We received the answer to our email inquiry the very same day we sent it. When it comes to background checks, the right service makes all the difference and Intelius is really on top of their game.

Upside:

Great customer service, wide variety of products, a la carte pricing.

Downside:

Higher prices than some of the other top background check services and no "club" discounts.
