Upon running the installation package of Kaspersky AntiVirus 2009 we were presented with a semi-rough install that could have been smoother. Though for the most part there were no major problems. Once we had Kapersky AntiVirus 2009 up and running the first thing that we noticed was that the program did not have a big effect on the performance of our computer. We also saw that right away it started to remove various threats that had found their way onto our computer. This did much to reassure us that this software could take care of business. Aside from the basics Kaspersky AntiVirus 2009 did provide hourly updates and performed the tasks that it states it does.

Kapersky AntiVirus 2009 Customer Service:

Kaspersky AntiVirus 2009 provides several options that can help with installation and general operation issues. The first one that we looked at was the FAQ pages. We found these to be a bit drawn out but overall informative. Next we tried to make use of the live chat option but soon realized that this option was only available during business hours. This did give us pause as many people may not be able to reach a live chat tech depending upon the time. There is however an option to leave a message so there was some redeeming aspect. Finally, we tried the customer service number. The representative on the other end was polite and knowledgeable.

Upside:

Hourly updates, faster scanning, protection from phishing and malware

Downside:

Still a basic protection package without premium options.

There is not technical support.

I have sent in a support ticket for a problem and I have tried to access help via the chat session.

I have tried to get into a chat session for days. After gettng in once I was disconected when I was told the problem I have does not exist.

I have been working form home and started a chat session at 11:00 AM and was timed out when the support personnel went home in the evening.
