Star Reviews' Favorite Feature:

We must admit that our favorite feature of the Kay Jewelers website was the Leo Diamond Collection. Every piece in this line of unique, brilliantly cut diamonds is independently measured and certified in order to provide customers with gorgeous custom jewelry. Leo Diamonds can be placed into rings, earrings, necklaces and pendants, and are the first diamonds ever to be hand-selected to match customers’ individual settings. It didn’t take long at all for us to fall in love with this collection.

The Kay Jewelers Online Jewelry Store Experience:

When we first entered the Kay Jewelers website, we were pleased to find a neat, well-organized homepage that displayed all of the site's features beautifully. We really liked the scrolling banner that announces current sales and offers, while also displaying pictures of some of Kay Jewelers’ best selling products.

On the other hand, we did find the site menu to be a bit too complex for our liking, as it seemed to contain one too many items under each category. We did, however, appreciate Kay Jewelers’ effort to provide us with detailed product options. We were also pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of products offered, including luxury watches, necklaces, and anniversary bands.

And while we loved the merchandise and the collections. We really didn't like the lack of search options the site offered. When we tried to find a particular ring, we found that solitaires can only be searched for by price and metal, and only include a limited selection of round and princess-cut varieties. We eventually had to go to another website to find the ring we were looking for.

In the way of customer support, Kay Jewelers offers an Education Center containing informational articles on jewelry shopping as well as a list of Frequently Asked Questions. An e-mail support form is also provided, as well as a toll-free phone number open Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time, Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. EST, and Sunday from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 pm EST.

We really liked the company's customer service department. Email support got back to us the very same business day (seems like fewer and fewer companies are doing that anymore) and phone support was not only professional and helpful, but there was literally less than 10 seconds of hold time before we were connected with a rep. Definitely on the ball in the customer service area.

Upside:

Wide variety of products, competitive prices, great customer service

Downside:

Leo diamonds were quite pricey.

Kay jewelers are one of the best in the business. They bring you all kinds of jewelry items in one place. They have got 900+ stores. They run clearance sales from time to time where you can get jewelry items at 30% - 50% discounts. There a section called "Education Center" on the website where you can learn about jewelry related things. You can also find lots of used but quality old jewelry at Kay Jewelers. Again they provide you with 1-800-527-8029 kind of customer service. I think its worth giving try.
