This program works great on my desktop computer and my laptop. It makes me feel much more secure about my network and computer information. I did notice a slowdown in my general utilities after installing the McAfee software. It was not as drastic as other programs but enough for me to notice. I do not plan on changing services, though, since I am otherwise happy with the effectiveness.

After my run in problems with Norton anti virus, I was able to stumble upon another company called McAfee anti virus. This product works wonders, ever since I used this product I was able to get less freeze ups as well as less viruses as this software has more scanning capability. I am pleased with this software so much, that I ordered all of my family members to have this product and they are satisfied as well.

Talking from the point of installation, I must say that this is a breeze to install. The default protection profile seems to be doing a decent job to users who are not geeks. It keeps upto itself uptodate by the use of auto updates. The firewall also does a fairly good job at it's default configuration. For more experienced users it provides the ability to have your own rules. If you ask me why I have given three stars to this is because I find it kind of a memory hog. At my computer running on 4Gig of memory, it sometimes consumes around 30MB. This is just the virus scan service. However, it doesn't seem to do much work since most of the time it's threads are idle. I have tried other brands which does a better job in both performance and virus detection.
