We really liked the fact that MediaRECOVER Pro allows you to recover files from CDs, DVDs and floppy disks. Not many data recovery products are able to make that claim.

About MediaRECOVER Pro:

MediaRECOVER started out as a company dedicated to providing digital image recovery services and products to businesses, organizations and individuals. Now the company offers a comprehensive software product that offers the full spectrum of data recovery, not just recovery of digital photographs.

Features:

Recovers more than 300 file types.
Recovers files from the emptied trash bin.
Disk recovery after hard drive crashes and partitioning errors.

The MediaRECOVER Pro Experience:

The MediaRECOVER Pro software was very easy to install and download, but we were a little frustrated with the trial offer. When we downloaded MediaRECOVER pro we were expecting a fully-functional trial product. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.

While MediaRECOVER Pro did let us scan for recoverable files, it did not let us use any of the restore features. In order to actual perform an file recovery and restoration, we'd have to purchase the product.

Once we got past our initial annoyance of the way MediaRECOVER Pro handles its trial, we had to admit the software was easy to use. We had no problem navigating the interface and it seemed to be one of the more user friendly products on the market.

We really liked the fact that we could scan CDs and DVDs for recoverable files, although we'll admit the software didn't actually find any when we put it through the paces. While MediaRECOVER Pro may not be the most comprehensive or effective data recovery product on the market, it definitely provides a sound solution for restoring more than 300 file types on your computer.

MediaRECOVER PRO Pricing:

MediaRECOVER Pro costs $49.95. We did not see any discounts available for volume purchases.

MediaRECOVER Pro Customer Service:

We were a bit disappointed that MediaRECOVER Pro did not offer any phone support. They did, however, offer email support and a somewhat-comprehensive online knowledge base. Unfortunately, neither were very impressive. The knowledge base was pretty basic and email support took two days to get back to us. While it wasn't downright atrocious, there's quite a bit of room for improvement here.

Upside:

Easy to use, works on CDs and DVDs, more than 300 file types can be recovered.

Downside:

Pricey and no volume discounts avaiable.
