In December of 1997 a Mr. Jorn Barger coined the phrase "weblog" and the Internet hasn't been the same since. Star Reviews realized the extent to which blog services gained popularity in cyber-world and we wanted to look at MindSay, an up and coming blog provider. We liked their bright and appealing user interface, and see what else we found below.

Star Reviews' Favorite Mindsay Feature:

We really liked the fact that MindSay was more than just a blog service. It's kind of like MySpace meets a traditional blog service and they have a baby. If you're looking to blog for social purposes, MindSay is the place to be.

About MindSay:

MindSay aims to provide service that allow Internet users to keep in touch and share information, and they're doing their best to accomplish that mission. MindSay services allow users to create blogs quickly and easily while networking with scores of other MindSay users.

MindSay Pricing:

It's as free as free gets. Mindsay doesn't charge a penny for its blog services.

The MindSay Experience:

Signing up for MindSay was very simple. Like all of the other top blog services we reviewed, all we had to do was fill out a short form with our information and we were on our way. Once we were signed up, we gained access to the MindSay interface where we could customize our blog with an introduction, header picture, text size, plug-in locations, borders, smileys and more.

MindSay also features a new community forum, which we found very interesting. With categories like Water Cooler Conversation, Politics and Current Events, Dating and Relationships and more, it's easy to see how MindSay is more of a community than just a typical blog service. They definitely prize member communication, which our team liked.

While the MindSay features were very easy to use and the community was very friendly, the features of the MindSay blog service were rather rudimentary. MindSay would be great for teens and young adults, but those who blog for professional purposes may find MindSay's services too basic or petty in nature.

Mindsay's Customer Support:

We found MindSay's customer support to be a bit lacking. While you can contact them via email, they state right on the submission form that they can't respond to every email they receive and, not surprisingly, we didn't get a response to the email inquiry we submitted. There was, however, an FAQ section that did address a number of questions one would run into when using the MindSay services and users can, of course, ask other MindSay members for help via the MindSay community forums. It is a blog service, after all, so why not leave a friend a comment? You might just get the answer you need through the grapevine.

Upside:

Free, easy to use, RSS publication, social networking feel.

Downside:

Very basic & elementary blogging tools.

MindSay - More than blogging

MindSay is a Social News Community service. Besides blogging, it also offers you with other features such as wiki, forums, facility to upload videos and photos. You can find people based on your habits and interests. It also offers for the charitable activities. Tags are very maintained and utilized alongwith the blog entries to make them easy accessible to the people. You can be part of social network and connect with other people matching your interest areas. All in all its a good service offering more than blogging with good intent.
