MySolitaire is one of the newer online jewelry stores to hit the market. It operates its business solely on the Web in order to provide customers with better value, quality, service, and a wider selection of jewelry than traditional brick-and-mortar jewelry stores. MySolitaire claims that its prices are, on average, 40 to 50% below retail, which definitely motivated us to learn more about its services. But does the company deliver on its promises? Here’s what we found...

Star Reviews' Favorite Feature:

Our favorite feature of the MySolitaire website was the Gift Boutique, which includes a wide array of jewelry suitable for weddings, anniversaries, men, children, and babies. This section also includes a category containing the website's Best Sellers to help guide customers through the gift-buying process. We loved the unique range of products available, such as the adorable silver alphabet diamond baby bangle, for example.

The MySolitaire Online Jewelry Experience:

The MySolitaire website is quite impressive at first glance. The site design looks very polished, sleek, and sophisticated, and we loved the fact that the company’s most popular rings and diamonds are displayed prominently on the main page. The gorgeous diamonds depicted on the site made us eager to learn more about MySolitaire’s complete collection of jewelry.

MySolitaire’s main site features revolve around its selection of high-quality diamonds and engagement rings. As we browsed this section of the website, we noticed that MySolitaire has a pretty limited selection of pre-set rings, but felt encouraged when saw that MySolitaire also provides the option to design your own ring – which makes the possibilities of what you can buy pretty much endless.

Unfortunately, when we searched for a 1-carat princess cut diamond solitaire, the search results showed No Records Found. This was quite confusing to us, as 1-carat princess cuts are a very common ring. We tried looking for other options, but got no results with those either. Because of this, as well as the lack of pre-set ring options, we have to say that MySolitaire really left us with a bad taste in our mouth unless you're looking for custom jewelery options.

MySolitaire Customer Service:

In the way of customer support, MySolitaire offers a list of informational articles on shipping and ordering, an e-mail support address, fax number, and toll-free phone number. We also noticed an icon in the upper right-hand corner that said “Live Chat is Offline,” so we assume there must be some sort of chat support available, but we are not sure when this option is open since it wasn't available any of the three times we visited the site. Phone support and email support, however, were both prompt and efficient. Email support got back to us the very next business day and phone support had only a two-minute hold time. Overall, if you overlook the lack of live chat availability, we have to say that MySolitaire does indeed offer good customer service
