Not so great since it can cause your computer to freeze.

I had use nortion anti-virus for years, however I wish that the software do not make my internet run slower. Every time, I tried to run the virus protection. My computer constantly freezes and I have to restart the computer. After trial and error, I was acknowledged that it was the software itself and not the computer since the computer was brand new. Overall, I ended up getting a different site and it was free to use and I do not have any more problems with this site.

Personally, I do not promote the use of Norton Anti-virus. One of the main faults that I feel Norton has is the fact that it will take over your complete system and use as much resources as it possibly can. What I mean is that, even though the system requirements for Norton require only 256 megabytes of RAM, if your system has enough, it can use up to 700 megabytes. Now to me that is huge. Not only will Norton have it's main program running, but it will also have like 6 other executables running at the same time, whereas as other Anti-virus programs will not.
Another problem I have with Norton is it's detection rate. Now don't get me wrong, it is pretty good (rated at about 92% or so), but compared to others like Kaspersky, Trend Micro, Spysweeper, and Panda it is low. As well as, some people have written viruses that can attack or avoid Norton completely. Some of those are extremely dangerous, too. All in all, I highly suggest to use a different anti-virus program, i.e. Kaspersky, Spysweeper, or Panda.
