CBS News was a close second to ABC News as far as our ratings go. They both offered a wealth of news, information and resources and both sites were attractive and easy to navigate. Why did CBS come in second then? Customer service, dear readers, was the tie breaker. - Live Simulcasts
- Local News Information
- 60 Minutes Archives and Podcasts
CBS News did feature a wealth of news resources, video segments, simulcasts and more. The news coverage was comprehensive, the articles informative and entertaining and the site's tools seemed to be quite valuable. Of course, the Entertainment section of the website was very impressive. This is CBS, after all. Even if the section was slanted to put CBS's shows in a good light, we still found the content entertaining and informative. Unfortunately, the service was pretty much nonexistent. The FAQ was slim (and that's putting it lightly) and email support didn't feel the need to respond to our inquiry. Perhaps because it's more of a feedback form than it is an actual email support tool. All in all, the site was impressive (even if the support was not). If you're a fan of CBS news programming, then this is definitely a site you're going to want to frequent. Just don't expect any customer support – you're not likely to get it. We give them 5.5 Stars!

We found Reuters.com to be one of the most advanced sites we came across in our search for the top news websites on the Internet. That being said, however, it's important to note that the site is not for everyone. - Inside Reuters Special Coverage Section
- Video Segments
- Stock Market Updates
If you're a businessman, serious investor or someone who likes to follow world news and events, then Reuters.com will be a dream come true. If, however, you prefer your news to have a local flavor and don't really care about the affect the Georgia situation is having on Russia's economy, then this site probably isn't going to be relevant to your needs. For those who are looking for the type of news that Reuters.com offers, you won't find a better resource. With comprehensive coverage, mobile phone text updates, market quotes and informative video segments, Reuters is definitely a news website worth looking into. They earn 5.5 Stars!

CNN is one of the reasons many people find the news to be quite depressing. While the site was filled with stories and features, the "doom and gloom" atmosphere made us wonder what type of world we were living in. That being said, if you don't mind all the doom and gloom, the CNN.com website is definitely easy to navigate and we appreciated their live coverage of breaking news and their informative video segments. - CNN TV on the Web
- iReport Where You Take Control of the News
- Live Developing Stories
You can also try your hand and reporting the brighter side of the world with the site's "iReport" feature. Report your own story and upload it to the site. The site says that uploaded videos might be chosen to appear on CNN. We couldn't figure out if that meant that all iReport videos made it to the site and some made it to television, or if only some of the videos actually made it to the site. Of course, we didn't get a response from CNN when we emailed them asking about it, so we'll assume that not all iReport videos are published on CNN.com. Overall, we have to say CNN is definitely a good resource for the latest news and world happenings. Just don't expect to feel bright and cheery when all is said and done. CNN earns 5.0 Stars!

You'd think, with a name like Yahoo! behind it, this news website would be one of the top news resources on the Internet. Unfortunately, while the site definitely provides an abundance of news to read through, it is very difficult to navigate and support is all but nonexistent. - Daily Features
- Comics and Editorial Cartoon
- 60 Minutes Exclusives
There is an overwhelming amount of information on the Yahoo! News pages – too much, in fact. We quickly became overwhelmed with all of the articles presented to us, and we feel the site could have done a better job of organizing the information. Some articles could have been combined into one, and a better arrangement of categories could have prevented some of the overcrowding. Aside from the organization and layout issues, another thing we didn't like was the site's extreme focus on politics. We understand that politics is a hot topic right now, but other sites seemed to balance their news offerings more effectively. Yahoo! News could learn a few things in this regard. Overall, while we admit that Yahoo! News is definitely capable of providing you with up-to-date news and breaking information, we feel they should work on offering better service and better site organization. They earn 4.5 Stars!
