RitzPix offers the speed of the Internet and the convenience of local pick up. Getting your digital pictures professionally printed is now easier than ever thanks to the Internet's online photo printing websites. It's no longer necessary to cart your film or your camera to your local photo shop and then wait for them to develop them for you. When the the Star Reviews' team decided to tackle this changing market and compare photo printing websites, we hopped onto RitzPix right away. After all Ritz Camera is a company that has been around for 80 years. Here's how they're doing in the new world of picture printing.
What’s New?
- Pick Up Your Photos At Your Local Store
- 4 X 6 Prints Ready In an Hour or They’re Free!

Star Reviews' Favorite Feature:
What we like best about RitzPix is the connection it has to an actual store. This offers a wider array of developing options that your average online picture printing site just can't match. With RitzPix you can take your camera or cell phone to your local store and upload the photos there, while still gaining access to them online at a later time. You can also download them to your computer and pick them up at a store in an hour, instead of waiting the usual 5 to 10 days for mail delivery.
The RitzPix Experience:
The RitzPix website is very well laid out and quite easy to use. Your choices are clearly visible on the very first page and the site offerings are described clearly. If you decide you want to open a free account, the link to do so is right there waiting for you.
A “Welcome Guest” square provides the link to sign up or sign in. Joining is quick and easy and no financial information is required. All that is necessary is your name, email address and password. You are asked if you would like to receive photography tips and advice via email or you can opt out of receiving further emails. They also promise never to rent or share your email address. We found that to be very comforting as spam is something we can all do without.
As you browse the RitzPix website you will discover that you have a wide range of options and tools available in order to make managing your photos a simple task. No matter how far into the site your browsing takes you, you will always find a link to your photo albums, an add photo option, and your shopping cart.
When you choose the “Order Prints” tab you are asked “where are your photos” and you are given the option of choosing photos from your online albums, your computer or your cell phone. The first time you select the option to upload photos from your computer you may be required to download a special software. When we did this it was a simple process.
Sharing photos with friends and families is also easy. When you share your photos through RitzPix each person gets three free prints. You can organize your photos into albums and even crop, rotate and edit for red eye, contrast, brightness, black and white, sepia and more.
One of the best things about the site is all of the tools available for creating special projects. You can create pictures with borders, calendars, cards, collages, gift tags, magazine covers and more all from the photos in your online albums. It’s so much fun to use you could spend all day playing and creating. A drop and drag feature and text editing makes it so easy to use. Once you’ve created your special design you just click “order” and your project is created.

RitzPix Customer Service
RitzPix has one of our favorite things to see – live customer support. In addition to a customer service phone number, email support and an easy-to-navigate FAQ are also available. We found the phone support offered very little hold time and email support responded to us within one business day. If you don't feel they're getting back to you fast enough, you might want to consider calling your local store to see if they can answer your question. Overall, we'd have to say that RitzPix is definitely on top of their customer service game.
Upside:
Easy to use photo editing and project creation features, live customer service, in store pick up.
Downside:
Prints cost a few cents more than other less-comprehensive sites.
