Brio.com was, without a doubt, one of our favorite picks for self publishing services. They’ve certainly thought of every possible angle in regards to helping their customers out. With options ranging from book formatting and editing, to helping you get your book registered with the Library of Congress, you’ll really have no need to shop elsewhere. - Warehouse inventory control.
- Full publishing packages available.
- Book and cover design packages.
While customer service hours were a bit limited, they gave very clear and concise answers when we called in, and did so in a manner that encouraged us to ask questions. When an author is putting their reputation, not to mention their savings, into their book; they should expect nothing less than Brio's customer service team. The pricing quotes were a bit difficult to obtain, but we think you’ll find this worth it if you need Brio's unique offerings. In these cases, the customized pricing structure can work to your advantage, ensuring you receiving the service and personalized pricing you need. With personalized services and a wide array of options available, Brio is perfect for the writer with unique self publishing needs. They earn 5.0 Stars!

With a bit of work on certain aspects of their business, Xlibris.com really does offer exceptional self publishing services to their authors. The packages might appear expensive at first glance, but for what’s offered within them, it seemed reasonable to us. Of course we really can't justify some of the company's pricing, such as the $99.00 fee to get a copy of your manuscript on CD. - Free publishing guide.
- Individual packages tailored to your specific needs.
- Helpful and informative Author’s Center.
The customer service available from Xlibris really does set standards in regards to competition. What drew us in was the 24/7 toll free number, as this is something that just about every business should offer. Let’s face it – most authors don’t work 9-5 hours! Still yet, we’d like to have seen a live chat feature and fewer follow-up sales calls. That being said, the packages available from Xlibris are truly comprehensive. With plans starting at as little as $299, Xlibris likely fits within most authors’ budgets. Of course, if you’re willing to spend a bit more, you’ll get even more in the way of options. With near-endless product combinations and top notch customer service, Xlibris.com is undoubtedly one of the leaders in the self-publishing field. They earn 5.0 Stars!

SelfPublishing.com offers you the ability to publish a book from start to finish, without incurring unnecessary costs. The company offers a full array of services that will literally take care of everything that you’d need in the way of publishing – from editing to getting your book on the shelves. - Free publishing basics e-book.
- Step-by-step publishing system.
- Expert editorial and proofreading services.
Unfortunately the web site is somewhat of a drawback. Our reviews team found navigation to be extremely difficult, confusing, and otherwise arduous. With a bit of work here, this company would rank fairly high among their competitors. All-in-all, we really enjoyed the variety of features that SelfPublishing.com offers. We also cannot stress enough how great of an idea the pick-and-choose pricing is, as it prevents you from paying for services that you’ve no intention on utilizing. Overall, SelfPublishing.com is truly a great pick for novice and seasoned authors – as long as they have a bit of web experience, and don’t mind a bit of work when signing up or exploring the site. Star Reviews gives them 4.5 Stars!
