Stellar Phoenix Windows Recovery is a data recovery software developed by Stellar Information Systems Limited, an ISO 9001-2000 certified company specializing in data recovery and data protection solutions.

The Stellar Phoenix Windows Recovery Experience:

Stellar Phoenix was easy to install, but it was not so easy to use. The software was definitely not designed with the novice user in mind.

The software did do a good job of scanning our system for files to recover, but we could not perform a keyword search for a specific file and there was no file preview option available. Locating and recovering files with this product is a tedious and time consuming process, to say the least.

Another problem with Stellar Phoenix is that no email recovery is available. While it's true that very few data recovery products offer email recovery features, we felt that for the price Stellar Phoenix charges for its product, it should be one of the ones that does.

And then there's the trial version issue. The competing software let us actually restore a file a day using the trial version. Stellar Phoenix doesn't give you any such luxury. You can only scan for files using the trial. If you want to actually restore any to see how that part of the process goes, you have to fork over the $99 purchase price.

Overall we have to say that while Stellar Phoenix can indeed recover and restore your files, there was nothing that really "wowed" us about the product, other than the company's 24/7 technical support.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Recovery offers single home user, administrator and technician licenses. Pricing is as follows:

Single-user home use is $99 for the download or $119 for the download and CD.
For corporate administrator use it is $199 for the download and CD.
For technician use it is $299 for the download and CD.

Stellar Phoenix Customer Service:

We felt that customer service should be one area where Stellar Phoenix excelled, since they offer 24/7 support and charge high prices for their products. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We tried for half an hour to get a hold of their phone support and finally gave up. Email support was responsive, but it took them more than a day to get back to us. For a company offering 24/7 support, they really need to work on making it more accessible.

Upside:

Technician licenses available, instant download, 24/7 support line.

Downside:

Support isn't responsive and the product needs improvement.

I had used this software in past and i found good. Ya sure the company provide trial version because before buying any product you can check whether your data can be recovered or not if in preview you find your files it means after buying you will definitely recover your lost data. I don't think it is a bad factor its good for choosing any product. I don't know about support because i never tried for it. Price is OK almost same as other company charges.
