Discover cards in general suck, which I should have learned from my parents with their discover card and account fiasco when I was younger. However, I still applied for the Discover Student card and had to fill out the whole application- which if you're an 18-year old who has never ever had a credit card before, you'll understand when I say that NO ONE UNDERSTANDS CREDIT CARD COMPANY LINGO. Seriously, they need to find a better way to explain to these kids who are getting cards what APR stands for and how it all works. Anyway, after filling it all out, and having a lengthy discussion with the "customer service" people on the phone, they wouldn't give me a card because of my LACK of credit. Okay, so I didn't have bad credit, I just didn't have ANY credit whatsoever---well WHAT STUDENT HAS CREDIT before they get a credit card??? It makes no sense, but they still to this day keep calling my house to try and get me to sign up for a regular discover card now that American Express gave me a card and my credit is really good. Psh- no thanks Discover, I'll stick with my Amex!

I believe every student should have a credit card.
