These Ain't Your Grannie's Greeting Cards

The world of greeting cards has definitely changed in recent years. Just a decade ago greeting cards were either sentimental or humorous. Eco-friendly? Not so much. Controversial? Rarely. That's all changed. While the traditional greeting cards of grandma's days are still available at greeting card stores across the nation, there are new greeting cards hitting the market each and every day, and not everybody is ready for them.

Hallmark's Announcement

Hallmark recently announced that they'll be distributing new wedding cards, which is nothing new – but those cards will geared towards same-sex marriages. Shocked? Some of Hallmark's customers are shocked, and a few are even outraged. Others, however, feel the cards are long overdue.

The Problem

If you are interested in these greeting cards, there's a bit of a problem – many local stores and small individually-owned shops are refusing to carry them. If you're one of the shoppers who falls on the side of the fence that approves of these greeting cards, that's going to make them harder to find.

Many of these cards will be available online. You should have no problem at all finding them at Hallmark's own website, which received decent ratings from the StarReviews.com comparison site.

Whether you agree with these cards or not, one thing is for sure. The greeting card industry is definitely evolving, and we're sure to see even more changes in the future.
