Overall, I would give the Riu Ocho Rios a 3+ to 4 star rating. The water and beach are above average, the food was good and plentiful as were the drinks. The one big disadvantage was the Children's Club. Absolutely dead! We travelled with a 6 and 4 year old and spent the majority of the vacation with them. The hotel is best suited for couples.

I made reservations with Travelocity online three years. Yes, making reservations is easy. Yes, Travelocity will accept your money....But, don't get and have to cancel!

The nightmare begins with there customer service in the USA...I have never encountered a customer representative so rude & obnoxious; I was on the telephone (toll expenses being incurred) approximately 45 minutes (plus 15-20 minutes on hold) trying to cancel my remaining hotel reservations and to seek refund. One hotel reservation credited! Where is the other 7?

I sent a letter to Michele Peluso, Travelocity CEO. I was assigned to a Posey (withholding last name), who granted me 1 additional refund in 2006. The following year, I emailed Posey...Do not see a Travelocity member number.

I sent a letter to the Better Business Bureau and to the Attorney General (consumer affairs-Southlake area). To no avail! Travelocity certainly must be paying big money for these 'organized' **** to look the other way! I got scamed! The next time I traveled...I called the hotel for reservations...no problems!

This makes them one of the best industry as they bring entire gamut of travel related services uder one roof. This is too at lower fares and good quality.
