In a world where many of us consume a lot of empty calories and health food choices like fresh fruits and vegetables are getting more and more expensive, it is easier and cheaper for some people to take a daily supplement instead. This method has become even more affordable with the creation of online health and nutrition stores. The Star Reviews team set out to find the best online nutrition stores on the Web. One of the shops we came across was VitaminLife.com. How did they compare to the other nutrition sites on the Web? Here's the scoop...

Our Favorite Vitamin Life Feature:

We really liked the articles section of the site, where we could access a wealth of information regarding different health conditions and the supplements that work well for them. There was also a link where we could take a health assessment quiz and a variety of calculators we could use to assess our level of fitness and health.

The Vitamin Life Experience:

When we first went to VitaminLife.com we were greeted by their 50% off banner and a list of brands that they sell. Underneath the banner and welcome message was a section showing six brands that they carry and a description of how much we could save on those brands by shopping at Vitamin Life. Next was a lengthy list of their newest products and specials, in two columns going down the remainder of the homepage.

Finding what we wanted on the site wasn't difficult at all. We could do a keyword-specific search or search by UPC number. This can be a huge time saver if you're looking to refill a supplement you already have. If you don't know what you want, however, browsing the site can be a bit overwhelming. The homepage alone has dozens of different products to choose from, and that's not even counting the category-specific navigation links.

In addition to a wide range of nutritional supplements, VitaminLife.com offers quite a few useful tools and reference guides. We really liked the online health assessment and the herb and supplement guides provided a wealth of knowledge regarding the different nutritional products we might want to consider taking for optimal health.

While Vitamin Life isn't the best-looking nutritional supplement site, nor is it the easiest to navigate, it definitely is worth a visit thanks to the tools and huge selection offered here.

Vitamin Life Pricing:

Prices vary depending upon the type of supplement you buy, the brand you buy, and the size you buy, but the site claims you can save up to 50% on any one item. One example is TwinLab's womens ultra daily multi-vitamin. It's retail price is $26.99, but Vitamin Life sells it for less than $18.

Vitamin Life Customer Service:

VitaminLife.com offers customer service via email and phone as well as an extensive online information database. When we called phone support we held for less than two minutes and were connected to a very friendly and helpful sales rep. Email support, while not as fast, was just as informative. The only thing we didn't like was that it took them two days to get back to us with an answer.

Upside:

Great savings, health and supplement information and guides, interactive health calculators.

Downside:

The site seems a little cluttered and disorganized at first glance.

I have been a customer of Vitamin Life for a number a years and have been very happy with their service. They have the best prices on the internet and their shipping is very reasonable.

I love the site navigation. You can search by category, brand or product type. I also love that there is a Items Previously Ordered list that you can order from. It saves having to look up the product each time.

They were having some shipping difficulties about six months ago when they had upgraded their systems. However, they were responsive to my emails and fixed the issues I had quickly. So far these problems appear to have been fixed.
