AARP offers a wide range of insurance services including: supplemental insurance,
automobile insurance, long term disability insurance, homeowner’s
insurance and more. The best thing about it is customers can obtain a
policy quote and maintain their policy online. Though it slightly
confusing to obtain multiple insurance policies because they are linked
through several different AARP websites, the websites are presented in a professional and easy-to-use manner.
The AARP website is well constructed and at first glance, the
website is clean, bright, and engaging enough to keep the user
interested in browsing what it has to offer. Some insurance products are
offered through AARP Healthcare, while others are offered through AARP Financial. This could easily get confusing for some users. Both websites are easily navigable to get what you need, as all areas of AARP are linked together.
AARP
offers 12 different MediGap plans for supplemental options. This
provides consumers with flexibility to ensure they get only the coverage
they need and coverage they can afford. It is incredibly easy to find
the plans available in your area by entering your zip code. From there,
you can see a selection of plans available. Simply enter your birth date
and desired effective date to obtain your quote. AARP offers far
more than supplemental insurance, with a wide range of plans including:
life, auto, home, long term care, and more. By offering so many plan
options, AARP has you covered, so you can take care of all your
insurance needs in one place. Before becoming eligible for insurance
products and other discounts, you must first become a member of the AARP, though there are some products available for people of all ages.

AARP Pricing: It is difficult to compare supplemental insurance plans from one company to another, because of the variances in coverage. To help you get a better idea of how competitive AARP’s pricing is when compared to other companies, we’ve chosen to compare a $100,000, 20-year life insurance policy with the same information across the board. Here’s how AARP stacks up:
- Genworth Financial $113 per month
- TransAmerica $116 per month
- AARP $148.92 per month
- ING $126 per month
- Mutual of Omaha $171 per month
AARP Customer Service: AARP features a toll free customer service number so customers can reach them by phone. There is also a feature allowing users to schedule a call to their home. We like that customers can avoid hold times, but we were disappointed when we did not find any form of email support or FAQ listing.
Upside: Easy-to-use, visually pleasing website.
