There are a number of registry cleaning products currently on the market designed to "repair" a Windows registry. The problem is, not all of them are everything they promise to be. Star Reviews decided to compare registry cleaners to find you the best choices to clean your computer up with. Ace Utilities was one of the products we tested and we think their program is pretty good. See what we encountered below.

User Interface and Product Application:
When we installed Ace Utilities, we ran into absolutely no problems. The process was seamless and took less than 10 minutes from the beginning of the download till the point when we had the program up and running. We found the all-in-one wizard, which allowed us to run all scans from one interface, very convenient. The only thing we really didn't like about this application is the fact that it wouldn't allow us to kill processes that were currently running. It did, however, work wonderfully when it came to cleaning our registry.

The all-in-one wizard is definitely a benefit and the fact that we could customize areas of our registry that we didn't want the application to touch was also very helpful.

The product is usually priced at $39.95, although the site is currently running a $29.95 special.
Customer Support:
Customer support is available via Ace Utilities online submission form. When we submitted a request via the form located on the website, we received a response within three days, there site states that they will respond within 24 hours. While our question was answered, it was not as thorough as we would have liked and didn't answer our question in its entirety.
Upside:
The uninstall manager for third-party applications is great and the registry repair feature does its job well.
Downside:
While it will help you uninstall unwanted applications, it doesn't have an uninstall feature of its own (meaning you have to manually remove it and there may be traces left behind should you decide you don't want it any more). Customer support also left us wanting – it was very limited.
