How would you like to drop two grand on a brand spanking new ride? Well if you are in India you can! July will mark the formal release of The Nano - the world's cheapest car, running you a cool 2 G's. Now I have a few questions here, why call it cheap? Wouldn't it be a bit smarter to call it the world's most affordable car? I am just seeing shades of the "Nova" blunder (yes I am kidding - I know its an urban legend) with this wording!

Tata Motors, the makers of the Nano are expecting more than 100,000 people to preorder these cars, and despite some setbacks that have pushed the release of the car back a few times, in July the first Nanos will go to the new owners! The owners will be randomly picked for the group that booked them between April 5th and April 25th at the price of 100,000 rupee or $1980.00.
Tata Motors has said they are looking to expand into Europe with the Nano and possibly have interest in developing a low cost car for the United States given the recent economic troubles we have been experiencing.
