Landscaping and gardening are a hobby for some, but a headache for others. We set out to test the As Seen on TV product the Awesome Auger after seeing it promoted by Billy Mays on TV. The commercial makes the product look so easy, just attach it to your cordless power drill and get to work, and if you use the included power extender you won’t even have to stress your back by bending over. We were eager to get our kit and test it, it took just a few days to receive it in the mail after we ordered our Awesome Auger online and the kit was complete with the 3 inch auger, 4 inch auger, weed aug and the power extender.
We took the Awesome Auger out to the dirt to put it to the test. It was very easy to attach it to our 3/8” chuck (will also work with ∏” chuck) cordless power drill, and we were ready to tear up some dirt in seconds. We started with the weed aug and it was perfect for making small holes to plant seeds, and then we moved all the way up to the 4” auger which would be perfect for digging holes for fence posts or planting larger plants or scrubs. The Awesome Auger is also perfect for turning your compost pile or for tilling the soil – we did a quick tilling test with the 4 inch auger and it was very easy and fast!
