One of the most used and potentially the most dangerous appliances in your household is your dryer. We tested the As Seen on TV product, the Dryer Max Lint Removal Kit, a kit that is meant for cleaning your dryer. The product comes with 3 main tools, the lint trap brush which is a three foot long stiff bristled brush that is long enough to reach down into your lint trap and remove the excess lint.
The dryer vent brush which is a long brush that is sized perfectly to fit into your dryer vent running from the backside of the dryer out of the vent hose to the outside of your house. The third tool in the kit works in conjunction with your vacuum cleaner to remove any excess lint from both down in your lint trap as well as in the vent hose – it is essentially a flat plastic vacuum hose.
We put the kit to the test on a dryer that hadn’t been cleaned likely since its first days and boy did we pull out some serious lint! The Dryer Max worked really well from the first tool to the last tool and we were able to rid out dryer of efficiency robbing and potentially dangerous lint!
Although the kit does involve a decent amount of manual labor and you might want to make sure you are comfortable removing the dryer vent tube to clean it (it is easy), it works great and improved the efficiency of the dryer which has since cut drying times since the cleaning. Warning, it will make a slight mess so just have your vacuum cleaner handy to help you clean up any stray lint when you’re done cleaning.
