Every now and again it is fun to just be a kid again, so that is what StarReviews had in mind when we set out to test the As Seen on TV product Blendy Splitz. Blendy Splitz, the Original Blendy Pens are pens that are designed to fuse two different colors together to give you that 3D effect for cool designs and fun artwork. With back to school season in full swing we figured this was the perfect As Seen on TV product to test, not to mention we felt like being big kids again!
The Blendy Splitz Blendy Pens are a three part kit that includes blendy pens, magic blendy pens and color splitz pens. The main function of the kit is to take two blendy pens and combine colors using the included fusion chambers. When you place one blendy pen into one end of the color fusion chamber and another pen into the other side of the chamber, you hold them vertical and then when you twist the pens in opposite directions of each other the color of the pen on top will blend with the color of the pen on the bottom. After you have blended the colors with the Blendy Pens you will be able to write and have a 3D effect where one color lays on top of the other – all the pens can be blended together and they are all reusable. The Color Splitz pens don’t have to be used with the fusion chamber as they are already combined in one pen – these are really fun and easy to use!
Our first impression with the kit was a good one, we could easily see these being a lot of fun for children to use and keep them entertained and making new designs for hours. It is nice that the Blendy Splitz Blendy Pen kits come with an instruction/idea book that show you how to make the best designs and how to use the pens. Also, in the kit you will receive a nice CD that has 100s of printable posters on them so you can print out new design templates to get the artistic juices flowing, you will also enjoy using some of the included paper to get started right away with your Blendy Pens.

- The instruction book is very helpful and has some nice ideas for art to create with the Blendy Pens
- The Magic Pens are fun to encode messages and pass to friends
- The Color Splitz pens are very easy to use and have a nice consistent result
Cons
- There is a slight learning curve to get used to how long you need to blend the colors for, but in a few pieces of tester paper you should have the hang of it
- We had some trouble using the included Color Splitz Spiral Gears
Overall, we were more than happy with the performance of the Blendy Splitz Blendy Pens. We had the hang of them after a few minutes of testing, and the instruction book was more than helpful to get us on our way to making some nice art. We had fun trying the Blendy Pens out on the included color book pictures and it gave us a nice opportunity to get used to blending different colors together to create nice designs. We were successful with our attempt at using the invisible magic ink to encode a message and then use the Magic Color Blendy Pen to draw over what we wrote and uncover our secret message (see video).
Star Reviews gives the Blendy Splitz Blendy Pens our highest rating of 6 out of 6 Stars. Being back to school time these would be perfect for any young student to have for projects. Any child would enjoy having the Blendy Pens when it comes time to make some artwork. We had a great time reviewing the product and were able to make some nice pictures with little practice, the Blendy Splitz are definitely an As Seen on TV product that work well and you will certainly get your money’s worth.
