We had so much fun playing with the Blendy pens and testing them out that when we saw the Dotza set we just had to check it out. The Blendy pens were a huge hit with my 5-year-old niece and she is not easy please. So if I could find another successful activity to keep her engaged while using her creativity, not only do I become her favorite uncle, but I score huge points with my sister-in-law.
Dotza color pens are markers with a small hole in the tip. The hole is used for “dotting” and creates a dimensional effect when using the pen. To create drawings you hold the pen at a 45-degree angle and rather than make a line, you dot. You can use these pens as normal markers as well, but the real fun is in dotting. The kit comes with 12 Dotza pens in different colors and 60 creation images. The set also includes the Sprayza airbrush system comprised of 12 Sprayza pens, 2 Sprayza tools and 20 stencils.
We truly had a great time playing with both the Dotza and Sprayza pens. The creation images and stencils were easy to use and allowed even the most untalented artist, myself, to create some really nice looking drawings. The Dotza pens perform just as they appear in the infomercial. Just line up the positioning guide at the tip of the pen to make sure the holes are pointed in the same direction and dot away. Simply trace the outline off of one of the creation images and then fill it in. In minutes you have a cool looking, dimensional drawing.
The Sprayza airbrush system was just as easy to use and just as much fun. It takes seconds to change colors in and out of the Sprayza tool. Blowing into the tool creates a human airbrush. The color is airbrushed onto the paper and the density can be adjusted by blowing harder or softer. Using the included stencils we once again had a nice piece of refrigerator worthy artwork complete in minutes.

These markers are sure to be a huge hit with younger children. It is nice to be able to give a child something fun and creative to do that is not electronic. This will allow kids to get creative, use their minds and get them off their video games and cartoons for a while. I can’t wait to share these with my niece and see her reaction when her mom puts her first Dotza picture up on the fridge. Overall, we highly endorse the Dotza and Sprayza pens and give them our max rating of 6 out 6 Stars.
