If there is one thing in this world that drives me nuts it’s a drain clogged with hair. Whether it’s standing in a pool of water in the shower or watching my sink fill up with nasty water as I shave, a blocked drain truly annoys me. More times than not the culprit in all this is my wife. She has long hair and as we all know hair and drains don’t get along very well. The Turbo Snake Drain Hair Removal Tool is marketed as a quick and easy way to remove hair from a clogged drain. Seemed simple enough to use so I figured we should put it to the test.
The product itself is pretty basic. It’s a flexible drain snake that you can insert down into any drain to remove hair that is causing a blockage. The kit comes with two different snakes to meet any hair removal need. There is a larger and longer snake with a flatter head for clearing showers and tubs and a smaller snake for sinks. Each snake is a flexible coil that can easily be unwound as you snake it down your drain. The flexibility of the snake provides a couple of benefits. First, it allows you to work around any drain stopper so you don’t have to remove it. Second, it allows the snake to conform to the shape of your pipes in order to get down deep and remove hair. Seemed basic enough so I headed into the bathroom to see how it would handle my clogged sink.
My sink was pretty clogged and water was backing up. It was incredibly easy to feed the snake past the sink’s stopper and down the drain. A couple of twists along the way and when I pulled the Turbo Snake back out I couldn’t believe the amount of hair it had collected. I continued to use the Turbo Snake a few more times, getting deeper into the drain with each snake, and in just a couple of minutes my clogged drain was flowing completely smoothly. Yeah it was a little gross pulling that hair up and peeling it off the snake, but the results couldn’t have been better. Best of all, I didn’t need to use any expensive chemical drain cleaners that are doing God knows what to the environment.

The Turbo Snake Drain Hair Removal Tool is a pretty straightforward product. It claims to remove hair from clogged drains and that’s precisely what it does. And, it does it well. The product worked pretty much exactly how it is advertised and efficiently tackles the task it was developed to take on. It cleared my drain with ease and I have to rate the Turbo Snake a solid 6 out of 6 Stars.
