GT Xpress 101 Review

Where to Buy This Product:
1. Amazon

If you follow our As Seen On TV reviews at all, you know by now how much we love to test kitchen products.  These wonder items tend to make pretty bold claims and usually promise to make life in the kitchen so much simpler.  The GT Xpress 101 is no exception.  In the infomercial, Cathy Mitchell is banging out great looking meals in a matter of minutes.  She is banging out tasty treats for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even dessert with the greatest of ease.  We had to see just how well the GT Xpress 101 really performs and put it to the test.

The GT Xpress 101 promises to cook hundreds of scrumptious meals and many of them in seven minutes or less.  The way it accomplishes this is by having heating elements on both the top and bottom of the device.  So your food cooks from both ends and there is no need to ever turn it.  All of the surfaces are non-stick and are supposed to make both removal of food and clean up a breeze.

We looked through the included recipe guide and decided to test the GT Express 101 with a variety of meals.  The first item we prepared was an omelet filled with various veggies, bacon and cheese. We followed the instructions laid out in the recipe guide and in about six minutes we had a perfectly cooked and delicious omelet.  The non-stick surface worked perfectly as the omelet slid right out of the GT Express 101.

We continued our testing by preparing a pepperoni pizza roll as well as chocolate cake.  Once again we simply followed the recipe guide’s instructions to prepare and cook or food.  The pepperoni pizza rolls cooked up perfectly, a bit toasty on the outside and nice and melted on the inside. The first batch of chocolate cakes was slightly burned on the top as we had overfilled the wells.  Once we adjusted for this, the rest of the cakes came out perfectly cooked.

Pros:

  • Really easy to use
  • Non-stick surface makes removing food and clean up a breeze
  • Recipe guide provides 100s of ideas
  • Saves you using your stove

Cons:

  • Slight learning curve so you don’t overfill the wells

Everything we made in the GT Express 101 came out really good.  The omelet was light and fluffy and tasted great.  The pepperoni pizza roll tasted amazing and was cooked to the perfect consistency.  The chocolate cake was rich, moist and delicious.  The GT Express really performed well.  Pretty much works just like Cathy Mitchell shows us.  We loved the unit and gave it our top score of 6 out 6 Stars.
