Eagle Eye Sunglasses Review

Who wouldn’t want to see clearer and farther than ever before?  That’s exactly what the Eagle Eye sunglasses promise to do.  Their patented TriLenium Gold Lens Technology earned the Eagle Eyes the Lifetime Certified Space Technology seal from the Space Foundation.  This all sounds pretty impressive but how do they actually work in real life?  That’s the question we sought to answer when we put the Eagle Eyes to the test.

What is supposed to make the Eagle Eyes the ultimate in sunglasses is their TriLenium Polarized Lens System.  The lenses block out 100% of ultraviolet rays and harmful blue and violet light rays.  The lens system also provides superior protection against glare and bounce-back reflection.  All of this is supposed to translate to providing the ultimate in definition and clarity while wearing the Eagle Eyes.

Eagle Eyes are available in a variety of styles including sports styles, kids styles, readers and clip-ons.  They are protected by Eagle Eye’s Scratch-Gard Plus coating on the inner lens and Sure-Protect coating on the outer lens, making them scratch, shock and impact resistant.

To test the Eagle Eyes out we headed down to the beach on a sunny afternoon.  The style we tested out was the aviators. Although they were no Ray Bans, they didn’t look bad and were a very wearable style. They did a nice job blocking the brightness and things were definitely quite clear while wearing the Eagle Eyes. When we took them to the street they performed very well at blocking the glare coming off of oncoming cars.

Pros:

  • Great clarity
  • Good glare reduction
  • Quality construction
  • Variety of styles

Cons:

  • Yellow tinting

The Eagle Eyes were actually inducted into the Space Foundation Hall of Fame this year.  Their technology definitely holds some merit and we thought the Eagle Eyes did a great job of providing clear, glare-free vision in the brightest, sunniest conditions.  Available in wide variety of styles and options we rate the Eagle Eyes a near perfect 5 out 6 Stars.

The vision was good however, the frames are not so good. Between my daughter-in-law and myself the arm of the glasses has snapped in the same spot on 3 pairs and that occurred while just opening them to put on. Nothing unusual. We love the vision but frames are not so good.
