One of, if not the most, tedious grooming chores a man has to do is shave his face. New razors are constantly coming out and the marketing dollars spent on them are astronomical. Blades, electric, and wet/dry razors vary in price, closeness and irritation factor. The RotoShave breaks the mold and promises to provide the closest shave under with no irritation in less than 90 seconds. The infomercial shows several men claiming it’s the best shave they ever had. Some pretty bold statements that we decided to put to the test.
RotoShave promises to deliver the ultimate shave by combining the closeness of a razor blade with the convenience of an electric shaver. It does this with 9 blades rotating at 30 revolutions per second to deliver 270 strokes per second to your beard. The RotoShave is a wet razor and can even be used in the shower. Your skin is protected from the rotating blades by the RotoShave’s patented safety guards.
Testing the RotoShave was easy enough. We lathered up with some shaving cream and used the RotoShave on a couple days worth of beard growth. The results we got were good, but not what we call the greatest shave ever. It was quick and easy to use and left no irritation at all. However, there were some rough spots on the neck that the RotoShave struggled with.
Pros:
- Can be used in shower
- Comfortable shave
- Free replacement blades
Cons:
- For thicker beards, blades are closer
- Slight learning curve
- Hard to shape beards
The RotoShave performed pretty well for us. It provided a nice shave with no irritation but felt a bit short of the claims in the infomercial of being the greatest shave ever. For those with a thicker tougher beard, there is little choice but a stick razor and we would rate the RotoShave 4 out of 6 stars for you. If you have a lighter beard you will certainly see much better results and the RotoShave gets 5 out of 6 Stars for you.
