I very much doubt that in the days of Macbeth that background checks were necessary, but then again if your father is a king one might assume they are not required? Unfortunately, my father not being a king and all, people who lend me money prefer to carry out a few background checks before lending me money or offering a payday advance.

I come from a middle class background and my parents always taught me to live within my means, I have struggled over the years and having done their duty by sending me to a relatively posh school, my parents have been nowhere to be seen for many years ... if you find yourself looking at the sky you should wave at passing planes as it may well be them flying over on their latest trip!!
In the absence of a helpful family and in these times of financial crisis, my life has not been without its fair share (some may argue more than fair share) of problems.

background checks would have to be made and take several days to perform (coming from people I have known for a long while, it appears to be a polite way of saying "stuff off").
I was walking in the high street about 3 months ago and amongst the "pound stretcher" shops that keep appearing during this recession I saw a shop offering a
payday advance. Now, I am a proud individual and historically quite nervous of such establishments, but knowing full well my predicament is unlikely to improve in the next few months, I ventured in.
Having expected to appear like a duck out of water in my pinstripe suit, I was encouraged by the friendly demeanour of the lady behind the counter whose warm smile actually made me think I was going to do her a favour, and the couple of other smartly dressed individuals in the queue. It was quite a surprise to me as I had expected a "Fagan" type character ready to steal my money (or in its absence, the shirt off my back!) and for a moment I thought of checking the sign outside to ensure I had entered the correct establishment. The lady was most polite and did take several details before wandering off to carry out some
background checks. They appeared to be limited and what they offered was far beyond my requirement, however I negotiated what I required and went on my way with what still to this day appears to be a hassle free payday advance and without all the embarrassment that I had associated with such transactions.
I guess what I am trying to say is don't feel embarrassed in these hard times, as like me when all else has failed you may find yourself able to get a
payday advance with limited
background checks being carried out and retaining your dignity throughout the process.
