So, you’ve applied for several hundred jobs and decided you need resume help as your only other conclusion can be that your emails are getting lost in cyberspace as nothing comes back? So actually you have had several hundred automated replies followed quickly by several hundred more ... "Thank you for your recent enquiry, but on this occasion ..." need I say more, they continue "... we regret to inform you that you have been unsuccessful ...", the final insult not said in so many words but tantamount to "We will be storing all your personal data on a computer and reserving the right to sell it on at our discretion for the next 12 months ..."

What nobody does these days is inform you that times have changed. I grew up and worked on a farm. Why? Because we were neighbours to the farmer. My brother’s first job was working for the man who did an extension on our house etc ... These days everything is automated and it literally is a jungle out there! You've got to get your resume correct and for that I can only suggest getting yourself some
resume help.
Seeking
resume help firstly seemed a little awkward for me, I was thinking this was a bit insulting to my ability to string together a sentence in English, more to the point "paying" for resume help made me laugh out loud. Until, I got the point.
So, who are these organizations that have flooded your inbox's? C'mon I’m not the worlds’ first job hunter, of course they have ... and like me, no doubt their emails have been finding your trash can just as quickly as they found mine. But wait a minute, do we know how and why these
resume help organizations manage to continue making money?
Let me sum it up for you, as having spoken at length to a resume help consultant the reality of today’s job market began to sink in. Let's go through the steps of a job application;
- You apply for a job.
- Your resume is received by an agency with strict guidelines and a list of buzz words.
- Your resume is scanned by a computer for those buzz words.
- The buzz words don’t exist and your resume is binned.
- The company never even saw your application!
Repeat that process several hundred times and you reach the conclusion I have come to, as a top 10% performer, the probability of this reoccurrence on such a scale by means of manual scrutiny just doesn’t tally up.
Resume help agencies do the hard work for you and depending on your budget this can be as simple as creating a generic industry acceptable resume, or guiding you through individual applications. I recommend that if you’re in the job market you give resume help a go, it may cost a few dollars but you’ll benefit for the rest of your life.
It’s a case of can't live without them.
