It had to happen one day and for me maybe I am a bit late in finding it but the business which operates under the name of uSocial.net has got it, understood it and are reported to have been delivering on it for some time, much to the annoyance of Facebook, Twitter and Digg users.

uSocial.net is an Australian business and coming from down under you may be forgiven for thinking that their strategy is upside down. Not so and whilst I am initially reluctant to say it, barring the road tests they may have a new fan!

Leon Hill is the Brisbane based founder of uSocial.net and has been offering the marketing service to businesses wishing to access Digg users for some time. In fact Digg appear to have been doing their upmost to close uSocial.net down.

The controversial business has now moved on to bigger things. Their latest targets have been the audience made up from millions of Facebook and Twitter users.

Leon Hill is marketing press releases to the masses and at a very low cost. He offers almost unlimited packages that will increase a users followers or friend base and win exposure to millions at a price that is in almost anybody’s budget. Whilst my admiration is growing now, this may turn to fear if this popularity continues at its current rate, as this new phenomenon appears to be closely followed wherever it goes by ghost accounts on these sites. If this continues the fears of Facebook, Twitter and Digg may prove to be correct and the alleged spamming may well drive away their users who don’t all wish to be hounded by friends with ghost profiles.

But is that likely to happen?

I’m not so sure, what I am reasonably sure of, is that Facebook, Twitter and Digg may be rather upset that there appears to be a loophole which allows others access to their marketing monopolies, and now they will find themselves fighting it out in their own backyard. The pricing strategy of uSocial.net makes that battle all the more interesting as they do seem to be way ahead of their gargantuan competitors in that field.

It was always going to happen; Let’s face it where there’s access to substantial amounts of people there are always people wanting to buy in. uSocial.net offers many packages; the rolls Royce (or perhaps Ferrari would be more apt!) of which is to generate a guaranteed 100,000 followers in 365 days to any account.  Techcrunch reported that Michael Jackson was attempting to buy 25,000 "followers" just prior to his death. 

What surprises me is that the recruiting strategy of uSocial.net, which is reported to be driven and signed up to by existing Facebook, Twitter and Digg users, may be a contributing factor to the increase in those ghost accounts and that factor alone is bad news for us all those of us who join social networking sites for a reason to be sociable.

I am tempted, nay sorely itching to give one of the uSocial.net offers a go, if for no other reason than to test their statements and report back on what happens. Nobody wants 100,000 friends or followers if there is nobody reading the adverts that are being pushed out.  So, watch this space as I may, given a few weeks be reporting on whether the claims of uSocial.net stand up to the tests of a live experiment.
