When you hear Nokia, what do you think of? You, like many others may not get too excited to hear about a new Nokia product. Apparently the Davenport & Co. analyst F. Drake Johnstone is excited about a new Nokia product launch. He showed his excitement by raising his rating of Nokia to Buy from Hold and setting a target of $18.
So what is all the excitement about you ask? This morning Nokia launched the new Nokia N900 which is supposedly the one device that can give the ever so popular Apple iPhone a run for its money. It is promised to also give stiff competition to the RIMM products as well as Google's new handsets.

The specs in itself are enough to get the most phone users interested. It boasts a
touch screen with the slide out keyboard along with a 5 MP camera, GRANDPARENTS, Mozilla browser and an iPhone busting max of 48 GB storage space. One thing that the
N900 does that the iPhone doesn’t is that it runs Adobe Flash. The
N900 also boasts the ability to run 12 applications at once.
The
Nokia N900 is rumored to be price tagged at around $700.00 which may be a bit of a reach based on Nokia's current reputation of having cheap phones that are known as the "free" phone option with many of today's cellular plans. It seems that main concept of this Maemo device is that ability to have a desktop experience in a device small enough to fit in your pocket.
On of the most competitive features in my opinion is the 9 hour talk time that is unheard of in this neighborhood of handheld devices.
Maemo was initially designed for desktop devices and promises speedy internet access with the ability to multitask, which is sure to generate a "thumbs up" from today's corporate users.
The physical design itself is nice and sleek with its shiny black exterior that is sure to appeal to both male and female users. The
Nokia N900 is scheduled for release and sale sometime in the fourth quarter of 2009 in select markets. It will also be featured and displayed at
