Not knowing whether she is pregnant or not can drive a woman crazy. Most women look for the smallest clue that they may or may not be pregnant. The difficult thing about early pregnancy detection is that all women will have different pregnancy symptoms and signs. Some women may not have any symptoms and signs for several weeks, while another woman may have morning sickness before she even misses her menstrual period.

Although all women will experience
pregnancy symptoms differently, there are some common early pregnancy symptoms to look for if you suspect that you may be pregnant.
Implantation bleeding occurs when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterus wall. This occurs only 6-12 days after conception and is the earliest
pregnancy symptom that may show up. Some women may have slight spotting or bleeding along with a little bit of cramping. Some women will not have any implantation bleeding at all so this is not the most reliable sign of pregnancy.
A missed menstrual cycle is probably the number one
early pregnancy sign. For a woman that normally has regular periods this may be a sure indication of pregnancy, while women who have irregular periods may not be able to count on this as a early pregnancy sign.
Some women may actually get tender breast as an
early pregnancy symptom while other women may just have a feeling of more full or swollen breast. Some women also report greater sensitivity in the breast when they are pregnant as well.
Morning sickness just does not happen in the morning despite it's name. Nausea and sickness can be an all day thing or happen during anytime in the day. For most women,
morning sickness does not usually happen until the third or fourth week of pregnancy. By then, most women have already missed a period.
The rise in hormone levels can cause headaches in some pregnant women. This is a head early pregnancy symptom to diagnose, but it is one that is reported by several women.
Of course, when it gets to be obvious that you are pregnany or the signs are strong and you want to confirm, a
positive pregnancy test is the number one actual indication of pregnancy. There are several early
pregnancy tests available that can actually indicate if you are pregnant before you even miss your period. It is possible for a pregnancy test to come up negative and you are pregnant, as it may just be too early for the pregnancy test to detect the hormones. On the other hand, if a pregnancy test comes up positive, it almost 100% correct as it detects a special hormone called hCG that only pregnant women produce.
If you do find that your
pregnancy test is positive, you need to call your doctor and set an appointment for your first prenatal checkup. You may also want to visit some baby websites such as
BabyCenter or
BabyZone to find out more about pregnancy and the upcoming arrival of your baby.
