If you do not plan on breastfeeding your baby, you will need to purchase baby bottles along with a bottle brush and bottle drying rack if you are going to wash the bottles by hand. Be sure that a couple of weeks before the baby is born, you sterilize the nipples of the bottles and thoroughly clean the bottles. Check the
baby bottle you are using, but most of them are dishwasher safe and that can be a good way to sanitize them before using them.
Don't buy that much clothing in the newborn size, unless you know that your baby may be born premature due to a multiple birth or a medical condition. Some babies are born not even fitting into the newborn size clothing. Even if you have a smaller baby, they will most likely grow out of the newborn clothing within the first couple of weeks of their life. If you have to, you can always put them in larger 0-3 month sleepers if you do not have enough clothes, but it is better to save money than waste money and your baby never wears the clothing.
If you are pregnant with your first child and you will be
registering for gifts, be sure to actually register for things that you need and will use and not just stuff that you want. Take advantage of your
baby registry and get the basics that you need. Things like a crib set, a bassinet, a car sear, stroller, highchair, diapers, and even a baby swing are a good idea to register for.
Be sure that you talk to your unborn baby. Your baby can hear pretty well while in utero and when he or she comes out into the world, they will recognize your voice much quicker if they heard it all the time in the womb. You can read books to your baby, sing a song, or just have a little conversation about how much you love them and can't wait to see them. This may seem a little crazy at first, but if you do in the privacy of your home, who is going to see?
