This movie follows a recently widowed man (Eckhart) who's book about the loss of his wife turns into a best-selling self-help book. On a business trip to Seattle, he meets a woman (Aniston) and quickly falls for her, but is confronted with the truth that he is not completely over his wife's death.

People are living their lives from the comfort of their own home via surrogate robots who live their outside life for them. The world is free of pain, crime, and consequences don't exist. When a murder takes place after 3 years of being murder-free, an FBI agent (Willis) named Greer must leave the comfort of his home and surrogate and come face-to-face with the conspiracy of the surrogate robots and solve the mystery.

Based off the novel “Shutter Island.” U.S. Marshall Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of patient from Shutter Island's Ashecliffe Hospital. He has his own personal reasons for wanting an assignment on the island but once on the assignment wonders if he was brought there as part of a twisted plot by the hospital doctors whose treatments are illegal and torturing. When a hurricane cuts off communication on the island, more of the dangerous criminals escape and soon Teddy begins to doubt everything including his sanity.
