Whether you’re an actor or not you’ve probably spent some time dreaming about what it must be like to stand up on that stage at the Academy Awards and accept an award. It’s what every actor fantasizes about and hopes they will someday be able to call a reality. There are tons of greats who have held that trophy in their hands and numerous stellar performers who have been nominated. This is what the up and comers, that group of young (under 30), talented actors dream about. Who among them if they continue along their same shining path will someday take home an Oscar? And why?
Evan Rachel Wood She started at the age of seven and has been working ever since. Evan Rachel Wood is a force to be reckoned with. She chooses off-beat roles and less commercial films, likely so she’ll be allowed to push the limits and show off her acting chops. From the good girl gone bad in "Thirteen" to the daughter of a boxer in “The Wrestler” to a scandalous student setting her teacher up for sexual harassment in “Pretty Persuasion” she keeps audiences guessing.
Shia LeBeouf He’s the everyday man, like a young Tom Hanks, and honestly he has that kind of potential. He has an ease about him that makes him likeable and relatable plus he chooses fun roles. It’s always exciting to see what he’ll do next. He also isn’t afraid of commercial films which will help him maintain his career.
Abigail Breslin Did you see “Little Miss Sunshine?“ That says it all. Granted she is still a child but this little girl has more talent than half of Hollywood’s community combined. She has the makings of a young Natalie Portman or an even younger Jodie Foster. Smart, charming and brilliant on screen. This little lady has a lot going for her as long as she decides to remain in acting as the years pass.
Freddie Highmore If starring opposite Johnny Depp not one time but two times and receiving his praise and recommendation for the roles isn’t enough then I don’t know what is. This young man has held his own with some heavy hitters and continues to grow with each role.
AnnaSophia Robb She’s beautiful and has the acting chops to match. There’s something about the way her eyes transcend the screen that is mesmerizing and draws you in. She’s likeable and her looks alone will win her roles but in the future wait and see, she’ll win something else as well.
Dakota Fanning Probably one of the most talented child actors of all time. It’s a wonder that she hasn’t already won an Oscar. She continues to hold the screen with some of Hollywood’s best and outshines them even from time to time. She is not only one to watch, she’s one to root for.

Jamie Bell From a virtual unknown dancing away in "Billy Elliot" to a teenage star, this boy knows a thing or two about acting and he’s tried his hand in virtually every genre. Watch this one and see where he goes, there are no roadblocks that can stop him from getting what he wants it seems.
Ellen Page She was a sensation in "Juno" and that wasn’t her only terrific role so she’s definitely not a fluke accident, she’s the real deal. Ellen Page has her own sense of style and a quiet confidence about her that translate well on screen. She’s cool, calm, and ready to collect an Oscar someday.
